When our longtime clients returned after the success of the signature green kitchen we designed three years earlier, they entrusted us with the complete transformation of their historic residence. Having already established a strong understanding of their lifestyle and aesthetics, we approached the home with confidence and purpose. With more than one hundred years of architectural history, the residence deserved a thoughtful balance between preservation and contemporary living, allowing every space to feel authentic, welcoming, and distinctly personal.
Luxury, comfort, and warmth guided every design decision. The home's original woodwork became the backdrop for refined furnishings, rich textures, and sophisticated finishes that honor its character while embracing a modern point of view. The main level includes a formal sitting room, family room, dining room, and kitchen, where the celebrated green cabinetry inspired a palette of greens, blush tones, and soft neutrals throughout the home.
Custom built in cabinetry, velvet and boucle seating, marble surrounding the fireplace, and a striking palm leaf wall covering define the sitting room with understated elegance. The same palm leaf pattern continues across the family room ceiling, creating visual continuity between spaces. A feather filled chaise invites moments of comfort, while the walnut dining table provides an inviting setting for intimate gatherings. Upstairs, tranquil neutrals, complementary colors, and elegant brass and marble accents transform the primary suite into a peaceful retreat that reflects the client's accomplishments and everyday life.
