Ditmas Park - Victorian Restoration

Located in the historic Ditmas Park community of Brooklyn, NY is a Victorian style home originally erected in 1910. We had the pleasure of restoring this gem to its original charm with some contemporary flair. Standing a tall 3 stories, 7 Bedrooms, 5 Bathrooms and 2 Kitchens, this massive renovation was unprecedented for To Be Designed, but certainly done with great detail, finesse, warmth and heart.

The home features original wood, restored and integrated into the final design. The clients love shades of blue, marbles and the warmth of wood so these elements are seen all throughout the home. We designed the kitchen with navy shaker style base cabinetry and white uppers providing both classic and contemporary. The kitchens are adorned with brass accents, marble-look quartz countertops and a water-jet cut mosaic backsplash. The bathrooms follow suit featuring marble flooring and walls, beautiful sea glass colored handmade wall tiles, shiplap wall panels and classic styled wooden vanities.

Throughout the rest of the home, we designed each space with minimal contemporary furniture, custom built-in wall units and décor pieces to add a unique contrast between old and new. With the TLC put into reviving this jewel, she will continue to stand beautiful and proud for another 110 years.
