Located within the vibrant Mott Haven neighborhood of the Bronx, this single-family brick residence became the perfect opportunity to create a home that reflects the aspirations of a growing family. Originally built in 1999, the home no longer supported the way our clients wanted to live. Through a complete redesign, we transformed both the layout and aesthetic to deliver an environment that feels spacious, refined, and thoughtfully tailored to their everyday lives.
As Mott Haven continues to welcome new residential communities and contemporary developments, our vision was to bring the same sense of luxury and sophistication into an existing home while preserving the warmth and character of the surrounding neighborhood. Every design decision centered on creating a residence that feels current while remaining deeply personal.
The once enclosed first floor was opened to maximize natural light, improve circulation, and create distinct spaces for gathering, dining, and cooking. By relocating the main staircase, we uncovered valuable opportunities for additional storage, including a full height pantry, double sided cabinetry beneath the peninsula, and custom solutions tucked into previously unused spaces revealed during demolition.
Soft neutral walls painted in Benjamin Moore Alabaster and light Canadian Oak flooring establish a timeless backdrop for contemporary furnishings and vibrant artwork. Rich layers of color emerge through blush wall tile, brass accented black hex tile, marble porcelain, a handcrafted sapphire blue vent hood, and the bold, lush paint color, creating a home that celebrates comfort, craftsmanship, and modern family living.
