Originally built in 2009 with standard builder finishes, this Harlem apartment no longer reflected our client's lifestyle or remarkable collection of treasures gathered through years of international travel. Entrusting us with complete creative direction, he envisioned a residence that balanced refined luxury with everyday comfort while allowing each artifact to tell its own story. Through a full gut renovation, every square foot was thoughtfully redesigned to create a home that feels sophisticated, personal, and effortlessly welcoming.
Within the nine hundred square feet, two-bedroom, one bathroom residence, we introduced a minimalist layout enriched by luxurious materials and carefully layered textures. Ebony parquet flooring reflects abundant natural light, enhancing the open atmosphere throughout the apartment. Removing the wall between the kitchen and dining area transformed the heart of the home into a brighter, more connected space designed for modern living.
The kitchen pairs timeless finishes with natural wood cabinetry, a patterned backsplash, and beautifully veined Calacatta quartz countertops. A custom display wall was thoughtfully designed to showcase treasured artifacts collected around the world, while olive green doors detailed with classic moldings and matte black hardware introduce a bold moment of color. Vibrant artwork, including several pieces imported from Jamaica, reinforces the home's distinctive personality. The spa inspired bathroom continues the natural material palette with wood look porcelain tile, while the primary bedroom concludes the experience with understated luxury and a striking Watercolors feature wall that made the final reveal unforgettable
